REDUCTION OF FRESH WATER CONSUMPTION IN THE PRODUCTION PROCESS

Author/Alier — 30 May 2024

The main objective of the project is to reduce the use of fresh water per ton of paper produced. To this end, an innovative accumulation and filtering system will be installed to recirculate the water used in the mill, specifically in the MP2 and MP3 paper machines. This will reduce the use of such a valuable natural resource as water and, as a consequence, will reduce the generation of wastewater that must be treated in the company’s water treatment plant and, therefore, the generation of sludge. In addition, the new investments will make it possible to increase fiber recovery in the production process, improving the use of raw materials.
